Meet Alexis Walsh, BFA Integrated Design '15
While studying a combination of fashion design and industrial product design courses, Alexis discovered her passion for incorporating 3D printing with traditional handcraft. Since then, she has presented her 3D printed fashion work in runway shows and exhibitions across New York, Boston, Paris, London, Moscow, Madrid, Manila, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, and Berlin.
In 2020, Alexis and her design partner, Justin Hattendorf, launched JAW Studio, a 3D printed jewelry line based out of their design studio in Brooklyn, NY. They use a range of sustainable materials and fabrication methods, including a biodegradable 3D printed plastic made from plant sugars and an innovative zero-waste printing process called selective laser sintering. All of the 3D printed jewelry is designed and produced locally in NYC.
