Love is Project
Meet Chrissie Lam, BFA Fashion Design ‘00
“I’m a nomad with a passion for making people’s lives better through sustainable international fashion. In 2000, I graduated Parsons School of Design with a BFA in Fashion Design. The education, experiences and lifelong friends I made in NYC and Parsons Paris inspired and prepared me for a career in design.
I got my start in the industry when I was hired to forecast fashion trends for companies like Abercrombie & Fitch and American Eagle. For 12 years I translated global trends into successful product lines that generated millions. But I wanted to do more.
In 2017, I combined my LOVE of travel with my background in concept design and ethical sourcing to launch Love Is Project.
We partner with female artisans around the world to create unique LOVE bracelets. Each bracelet is inspired by the distinctive culture and craftsmanship of each country. Every purchase means financial independence, water and food security for families, education for kids and access to healthcare.
LOVE isn’t a luxury item, it's a basic human right. Thanks to our artisans and our growing Love Is Project community, we’ve been able to spread LOVE across the globe and scale our impact. We’ve worked with more than +1600+ female artisans in 10 countries. We’ve also donated proceeds of our profits to Black Lives Matter, Green School Bali, and It Gets Better Project amongst other non-profits."
