Talavera Bracelet (Set of 3)

$ 40.00

These bracelets were handmade with LOVE in Dolores Hidalgo, Mexico by four local artisans.

The origin of ‘talavera’ art comes from central Spain, specifically from the city of Talavera de la Reina. The technique was brought over to Mexico and began to permeate artisanal culture when Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla, a Spanish priest, leader in the Mexican war of independence, and the founding Father of Mexico, taught the making of talavera to locals. From start-to-finish, it takes about four days to create a Talavera Bracelet due to the clay molding, drying, baking, cooling, and painting process.

Within each Talavera Bracelet Set are three bracelets (red, blue, black).
