In creating this piece, I wanted to depict this constant swirl of energy that I found myself surrounded by in my days at The New School.
Strategically placed cutouts in the design create different forms of the illustration depending on the color of the material allowed to peek through - an attempt to capture a sense of play and whimsy.
I learned a lot in that whirlpool of creativity, both about myself and the art I wanted to make. Pushed to work outside the realm of my comfort zone and allowed to pursue a variety of disciplines, my illustration style and practice today is very much a product of my time there that I'll always fondly hold onto.
